Yahweh varies. The Old Testament is not ready to declare that the spirit is Yahweh or vice versa; rather, its affinity to God is often expressed in a parallel construct with other anthropomorphic expressions such as mouth (Isa. 34:16) or hand (Exod. 15:6).41 This expresses part of God himself with a distinct function. At the same time, there are usages more detached from God such as the spirit of judgment and burning (Isa. 4:4) which almost sounds like ‘a spirit of …’ (cf. 1 Kgs 22:22–23). Also a
